One Eyed Jack
I came across this beauty along the Bear Creek Trail in Lakewood, CO. Backlighting, my favorite kind of light, made this moment even more magical for me.
Don't Forget To Strrrrrrrrrretch!
I came across this Great Blue Heron on the trail and enjoyed watching it in the warm sunlight on the cold day. What a neat moment when it decided to stretch :)
I had the pleasure of a neighbor showing me the nest of this Broad Tailed Hummingbird. What a gift! I love the look of contentment on her as she sits waiting expectantly for her eggs to hatch. (Look at her eyelashes!)
I had split seconds to capture Mama Hummy bringing food to her babies before she flew off again. A heart warming moment to see the nurture in nature.
I came across a large group of Mallards on Bear Creek and enjoyed watching the energetic birds bathe themselves; splashing and diving.
"Look Ma! No hands!"
Another fun moment during the Mallards' bath time.
Another capture of the beautiful Mallard during its bath-time.

A Frosty Morning
It was about 11 degrees out this morning when I went out on the trail along Bear Creek in Colorado. The steam rising off the water from the sun's warmth made this moment mystically beautiful.
My Blue Jay Friend
On bleak Winter mornings, it often cheered me up when the loud call of the blue jay would come and I would place out a few peanuts for my pal. Getting a focused shot of him was more of a challenge than expected since he would barely land before he would take off again with his treasure.
Winter Morning on the Creek
11 degrees out and the sun's rays caused the water to steam making this a magical moment.
I love the look of the Hooded Merganser. They are so often a challenge to capture as they seem shy and quick. I don't see these too often on the creek but appreciate it when I do.
Blue Heron Reflection
I love watching the Great Blue Heron as it focuses, looking for a fish for its next meal, such grace and determination.
Snow Day Visitor
I love the Northern Flickers. This one happened to perch on my rooftop and I grabbed my camera in time to capture it. Check out those polka dots on its feathers!
Doves are peaceful and often serve as a reminder to me that God assigns one guardian angel or more to keep watch over each of us. When I see one, I feel protected and peaceful.
Silhouette of a Songbird
As I was heading back from my trail walk, this Townsend's Solitaire perched itself in a spot that allowed me to capture it's silhouette. I sweet farewell.
I enjoyed watching the Heron hunt the waters for its next meal. It caught and ate 7 fish in about 45 minutes!
A Smidgen of Wigeon
I enjoyed watching this male Wigeon find grass to eat in the deep snow; one sunny Winter's Day. I love the sweetness on this one's face.
I really was touched to watch the male Great Blue Herons as they would fly off to find the "right" stick to hand off to the female for their nest
This Hairy Woodpecker was doing what it does best; hammering away on tree trunks, looking for its next meal. I love the sound of the hollow wood as they hammer.
This beautiful female Belted Kingfisher would rather be a queen-fisher :)
I love the mix of snowflakes with the green leaves in this photograph. Of course, the sweet little Chickadee makes this photograph even better.
